Ciao my Loves,

There nothing better than spending the day in the great out doors. Every once in a while it is good to leave the city and go to a place in touch with nature. Take a deep breathe, feel the gentle breeze and relax. There is no honking, no crowded streets, and no loud noises, take one moment to enjoy a different world.

Going out to the ranch was the perfect excuse to wear my new hat and dress like a rancher. I love the designs used in Rancher wear especially from Mexico and Argentina. I wore my Zara light pink blouse and tied a polk dotted head scarf around my collar. I grew up with family members in Mexico who were Charros and Escaramusas. One thing I notice they were always well dresses head to toes. Hair pulled back for the women and nicely comb for the Men. Tuck in your blouse, and wear a belt, now your starting to look like a Rancher. You can never go wrong with boots, I wore my high heels ankle boots. I suggest sticking to boots without heels, because I didn’t notice until I got home how tried I was!

*Take a deep Breathe.

*Experience a different world.

*Enjoy the beautiful Sunset.

Life is not only in the city, go out and experience nature.

What is you favorite thing about being in the great out doors?

Hello Mod Girl!

 Ciao my loves,

I am calling my inner Mod Girl. Head to Toes bringing back the 60’s. I was inspired by the modern 60’s haircut my hair stylist gave me.  I am wearing the flower pattern pink neon dress over my white crop shirt. The dress is longer, it goes all the way past my knees. To create the length that is similar to a box silhouette of the 60’s, I used double-sided tape. Double sided tape is a girls best friend! Lets finish the look with brown oxford shoe’s from target.

Curves won’t stop you from rocking a boxy silhouette.

*Try keeping the dress as close to the body as you can.

*Keep the length above the knees to create the illusion of longer legs.

Spring Breeze

DSC_0230DSC_0204DSC_0214DSC_0202DSC_0217DSC_0201DSC_0209

Ciao my loves,

A breeze in the air, warmth from the sun, & a perfect blue sky. One of my favorites seasons is finally here! Flowers are blooming everywhere in my hometown, filling my city with beautiful colors. It takes my breathe away. The dress  I am wearing is from Ross, it is a black high low dress. The fabric is so light it dances with the rhythm of the wind. The peach boxy shirt I bought from Good Will. I pinned it with a safety pin in the back and folded it to hide the pin. The reason I did this was to create a waist line. For days in flower fields I recommend wearing flats or wedges, stay away from thin heels.  Find inspiration from the land that surrounds you. See the different colors from nature, from the blue clear sky to the little flower growing from the ground.

Colors are the smiles of nature.

Take time to spend these beautiful days with the people you love. Relax, breathe, & enjoy the beauty that nature is offering you.

Remember you have to feel good to look good.

Garments: Plaid long sleeve/H&M, Black blazer/ Out of the Closet, Boots/ Forever 21

Ciao my Loves,

I took one step into a restaurant… and travel to Mexico. The interior was stunning, I felt like was standing at my family’s patio back in Michoacan. I imagine myself like La Dueña of the Mission, with my head held high and with a passion for my work. My outfit reflected my confidence, I wore a fitted blazer  that had a long back. Under that I wore my plaid long sleeve shirt. One thing that I like to do is to fold the sleeve of the blazer or cardigan and  then fold the under shirt over it. If you want to exude confidence you have to trust & love yourself, then reflect your outfit to that inner confidence. Trust me you can also be like La Dueña, who no matter what she holds her head proudly with confidence and does everything for the land she loves.  I love wearing fitted outfits it helps me look taller, black is always a great color to feel powerful and it looks like you mean business. The final touch to my power outfit it my ankle boots. You don’t always need heels to feel like you can take on the world.

Remember you have to feel good to look good.

What outfit reflects your confidence? let me know in the comments below.

Not What It Seems: Skirt

NWIS_PIC1

Ciao my loves,

I have been learning so much from my styling class that I wanted to share it with you. Things are not always what they seem, take a closer look. Styling has open my eyes to wearing my clothes in different ways. Use your imagination to style the item in a new way. Let’s take my light pink skirt. To most it is just a skirt, but to me it transformed to 12 different styles.Styling 1

Try it:

NWITS_PIC3

Start by putting it over your head. Fix the collar in a way you would like it to be.

NWIS_PIC2

Take some safety pins to help you pin the skirt to create selves.

Now you have a new sweater! It doesn’t take much to create a new item, you just have to let your imagination guide you. Remember not everything is what it seems.

Style Muse: Frida Kahlo

Ciao my loves,

Try something new. Recently I have been exploring outside my usual style. Since I started my Styling class I have been learning to explore outside my comfort style. Finding a style muse can help you change your style. The trick is mixing both your style and theirs. Get an influence from them but don’t become them. My style muse today is the amazing Mexican painter, Frida Kahlo. She was admired for her art and strong style that had beautiful Mexican embroidery as well as bright colors. With her style, I can bring out the bold color and patterns influenced by my heritage and combine them into modern outfits. Don’t be afraid of mixing patterns. If they have one similar color that is brought throughout the patterns, they will harmonize together.

“Nothing is worth more than laughter. It is strength to laugh and to abandon oneself, to be light.” -Frida Kahlo

Ciao my loves,

Today I want to show you how to wear print in an area that you want to hide. You shouldn’t be afraid of wearing print in a certain area just because it will make it more noticeable. Some patterns can help elongate you like vertical stripes. It also depend on the color and size of the print. I am wearing my red pattern trousers from H&M. My body is top heavy and bottom heavy. To find balance I paired it with Neutral colors. My blazer is long enough the it covers my bum. By having this long blazer I am able to bring less attention to that area.  My white coat helps me define my waist bringing balance to my top and bottom.

Don’t be afraid of patterns, there are many different ways to style a pattern that will work with your body type!

How do you style your patterns? Let me know in the comments below!

Outfit

Stripe sweater: Forever21/Beanie: H&M/Dress: Forever 21/Boots: Out of the Closet

Ciao my Loves,

Although it is winter the weather in my hometown has been warm with blue skies. I love this wonderful weather, cool enough to wear a light sweater. My dog Peluche join me for a walk by the river. My outfit today is perfect for a day out. If you plan to wear high heel boots for a long day out, remember to use one with a chunky heel. The chunky heel will provide a better support. I wore my sweater was Burgundy with thin Navy stripes. If you are on the buster side like me, this type of strips won’t make you wider. Try to avoid large stripes going across. Don’t be afraid of mixing patterns!  I mixed the Striped sweater with a deep green pattern dress. Last finish the look with a cute beanie. Voila!

What is your favorite winter piece? Let me know in the comments below.

Remember you have to feel good to look good.
